HISTORICAL FILM PRODUCTION
Every project starts with surviving historical material. We restore, extend and reconstruct what the source can still tell us — architecture, clothing, objects, light, atmosphere and human detail.
The aim is a believable scene that feels less like an interpretation and more like a moment that could have been filmed there.
SELECTED WORK
This reel moves from Southampton Harbour in 1923 to Café Trömel in Plauen, Hamburg’s Nikolaifleet and back to Trömel’s billiard room. Each sequence begins with a surviving source before the scene is reconstructed and brought into motion.
THE WORK BEHIND THE IMAGE
Modern AI tools are part of our workflow, but they are not the workflow. Source analysis, restoration, compositing, reconstruction, continuity work, corrections, editing, sound design and finishing account for most of the production time.
HOW WE WORK
We work closely with our clients and adapt quickly when new material, corrections or additional wishes emerge. A small production setup keeps communication direct and the work flexible.
DELIVERY
Our default master format is 4K CineScope at 4096 × 1716 pixels (2.39:1). Other aspect ratios, resolutions and codecs can be delivered as required. For theatrical presentation, we can also prepare DCP packages with multichannel surround sound, including 5.1 and 7.1 workflows.
